Win of the Week: Mila’s Tour of Awesome

So Mila Kunis has been hitting the press circuit pretty hard for her latest flick, Friends with Benefits. And she’s been rocking some fantastic frocks on her fantastically tiny body. Like this one.

It’s kind of hard to pull of silky and drape-y without it looking like some sort of robe, but Mila manages it. And she also looks awesome in that peach color, which I could never do with my skin tone and I just might hate (only a little bit) her for. And just check out the expression on her face. It’s like she’s saying, “Yeah, I know it; I’m hot.”
And this is just like the feather in her fashion cap. She’s been white swanning it up in a pair of little cocktail dresses. These say to me, “See, Natalie? I totally could’ve been the White Swan.”

So props, Mila. You’ve convinced me to see your movie. (Well, you and what I’ve heard are some well-timed Harry Potter puns.)

Wins of the Week: Super. Awesome. Glamorous.

So on first glance, I thought Mila Kunis looked like Vanessa Hudgens (Mea culpa, Mila!), and I was like, “V. Hudge, when did you find fashion?” And after heaving a great sigh of relief, I was more than happy with her fabulous Alexander McQueen frock. This is the kind of dress that says forget about That 70s Show and the fact that I dated a Culkin for like a million years. This dress says I am a legit actress that plays a badass ballerina and has a hot scene with Natalie Portman.

If Mila went as the dark swan, then Natalie went as the white swan. Is this a case of art imitating life imitating art? Isn’t that part of what Black Swan was about? Does anyone really understand the multiple layers to that movie anyway?

BONUS: Hailee Steinfeld’s look is fun, fresh and just so different from what you usually see on the red carpet, that I love it! The young starlet’s definitely got a flair for fashion (or just an awesome stylist).

Fails/Wins of the Week: Golden Globes MEGA Part II

Pretty in Pinks and Pastels

Emma Stone looked fab in Calvin Klein (even though I can’t get used to her as a blonde. She’s one of my fave redheads!). I especially liked the sassy flash of skin she showed in the back (which was a bit of a trend).

Lea Michele, however, dressed as any dramatic diva would, but pale pink isn’t really her color and there were far too many ruffles.

She should have taken a note out of Glee castmate Dianna Agron’s book. She kept it simple and statuesque.

And Julianne Moore looked like she stole her dress straight from Pretty in Pink or the set of Dynasty. The hot pink and one sleeved dress was way too retro.

My two faves? Angela Chase (yes, I will never stop calling Claire Danes that) positively glowed in her pink frock. Looks like she’s definitely left her introspective, angsty, why-won’t-Jordan-Catalano-notice-me days behind her.

P.S. Check out her fabulous “Globes” quote.

And Hailee Steinfeld looked wonderfully age appropriate. Burgeoning starlets, take notice!

Go Green

Catherine Zeta-Jones looked gorgeous in green. And she wasn’t the only one.

Mila Kunis and Angelina Jolie also rocked it.

Albeit Jolie rocked it in a sparkly ’80s-tastic way.

Elizabeth Moss looked lovely as well, but she was my least favorite. Although the structure of the dress looked great from the front…

…the back looked bunchy.

Sofia Vergara: Va,va,va, voom in Vera Wang.

Edie Falco also looked ravishing in red.

January Jones might’ve gone for flashy, but her dress looked like she stuck some red duct tape across her boobs and then stuck a bunch saloon girl fringe to the bottom. Hey, a DIY cocktail dress.

Bring on the Sparklies

Now, we all know, I love the sparklies. And there were several ladies who did it right Sunday night.

Carrie Underwood: Shiny!

Olivia Wilde: Stunning in Marchesa. LOVE the dress. If the stars were made of sequins, her dress looks like how I would picture the Milky Way.

Megan Fox teases with just a dash of glitz.

J.Lo’s see through poncho? A sparkly hell no.

Anne Hathaway might look a bit like a disco ball, but her figure from the back is stunning. So saucy, Miss Hathaway.

Enough-les with the Ruffles

Ruffles were out in abundance—over abundance.

Amy Adams’ frills were oddly placed.

Less is more, ladies.

Julie Bowen

Jennifer Lawrence (She looked awesome in sparkles at The Critics’ Choice Awards.)

Jenna Ushkowitz

As my brother said, J. Lo Hew looks like she’s trapped in a giant oyster.
